Poem – Guyana

in 1972 - 1973

Guyana dear land of our birth,
The fertile source of all dirt,
The ousing corporation and agriculture fields
Will bring us all the great harvest yields.

Guyana, my land I love so dear
With lakes and rivers that have water so clear
Produces bauxite, rice, lumber and gold
Sometimes exported to be sold

By sunshine and flowers all happy go lucky
With it's grandeur of mountains so rocky
Guyana so beautiful, so exciting and gay
Awaits all opportunities to seize for the day
